Driving & Car Rental

Public Transport

West Belfast Taxi Association have a Black Taxi service around West Belfast with fares from just over £1. It is West Belfast’s best known and favourite form of public transport with friendly local drivers and a good chat to be had. For further information, please check out their website.

The Translink Metro is Belfast’s bus service which runs during the day. Bus stops can be seen every few yards around the city. Just put your hand out when you see a bus and hop on! Fares for busses are also low, and day-tickets can be purchased. Translink also have busses and trains going to and from airports and other cities, towns and villages in Ireland. Ferrying

Ferries go from Scotland, England and Wales to Belfast and Dublin. You can find many great ferry services online. Ferries to Belfast arrive at Belfast Docks in the city centre and have on-board catering. If you want a day out on the sea, you could always go from Belfast to Stranraer and back again! The Irish Sea is wild and beautiful, making ferrying the most stunning, scenic way to travel to Ireland.

Flying

Getting to Belfast via plane is simple and easy. Most budget airlines and major airlines in Europe and the United States fly to Belfast or Dublin. Wherever in the world you are, check out your favourite airline’s website. Ireland’s main airports are Belfast International Airport, Belfast City Airport, Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. Ireland also has many regional airports in the Aerfort Dhún na nGall in the Donegal Gaeltacht and Aerfort na Minna in Galway, so flying internationally and nationally is just a short drive away!
